NOTE: Bring fabric(s) for only (1) block to work on in class. Yardages and cutting instructions included for entire 55 inch square quilt, though. $25 pattern includes all 5 blocks, setting and corner triangles. 


FOR ENTIRE QUILT:
3 yds. background for blocks, borders & binding cut into: (5) 20 inch square blocks (bring only (1) one to class for your chosen block below); (1) 29 inch square for (4) setting triangles; (2) 14 3/4 inch squares for 4 corner triangles; (2) 2 1/2 inch wide X 108 inches long strips, (1) 2 1/2 inch wide X 30 inch long strips sewn end to end for straight grain binding.
2 yds. dark green print for blocks, setting triangles and corners
3/4 yd. fall color for top left block
3/4 yd. total for birds and berries (may mix and match colors)
3/4 yd. for center baskets (use (1) 12 inch square for center block baskets; rest will be used in setting triangles and corners if suitable)
1 yd. red/orangey red for Coxcombs and bottom right block, may also use in berries, flower centers, etc.
Fabric scraps suitable for flower centers and berries
Batting and backing for a 60 inch square

FOR TODAY ONLY, BRING FABRICS BELOW THAT PERTAIN TO THE BLOCK YOU WANT TO WORK ON IN CLASS: (Center Coxcomb Crossing block culminates all simpler techniques learned in the other four blocks, therefore, I recommend not choosing it unless you are very experienced.)
Top Left: DOUBLE OAK LEAF - 3/4 yd. fall colors (a batik will show both light & dark shades)
Top Right: OAK WREATH WITH LOVE BIRDS - (1) 20 inch square dark green print; (1) 15 inch square yellow for 2 birds
Bottom Left: LEAF WREATHED BIRDS - (1) 20 inch square same dark green print ; (1) 15 inch square same or similar yellow for circle of birds
Bottom Right: BIRDS IN FAUNA FRAME - (1) 20 inch square red/orangey red (a batik will show both light & dark shades)
Center Block: COXCOMB CROSSING - (1) 20 inch square same dark green for coxcomb calyx and leaves, (1) 12 inch square autumn rust tone on tone or batik print for baskets, (1) 12 inch square orangey red for (4) coxcombs, (1) 15 inch square for yellow berries & coxcomb centers (batik is nice to show light to dark aspects of the flowers and berries.
 
OTHER SUPPLIES: (5) 18 inch squares rolled freezer paper, fabric marking pen (may be purchased in class), paper clips or small stapler, applique' needle (may purchase in class), threads to match applique' fabrics in your chosen block, thimble, pins, scissors (fabric & paper cutting), and small trash bag.
